This Mary Pickford Cocktail recipe is a rum based cocktail but full of cherry flavor. It yields a deliciously balanced and sweet cocktail that will have you looking into the forgotten cocktails of the Prohibition Era.
3 Maraschino Cherries 2 ounces rum 3 ounces pineapple juice 1 splash grenadine Maraschino Cherries optional garnish
In a cocktail shaker add 3 Maraschino cherries and muddle Add ice to cocktail shaker and then add rum, pineapple juice, and a splash of grenadine Shaker until cocktail shaker is very cold and frosted on the sides. About 20-30 seconds. Optional-Add maraschino cherries and garnish. Sip and Enjoy!
Here are my best tips for making this drink:
Always use high quality ice when making a cocktail
You can use Maraschino cherries or Maraschino Cherry Liqueur if you have it
You can use white rum or gold rum in this recipe, however skip the dark rums or aged rums as they don't lend a great flavor here.
If you shake this enough, it will develop a foamy like head to the drink.
