Trader Joe's Fondue Au Chocolate or Chocolate Fondue

The pros:  After opening I took a good sniff at the block of chocolate that is Trader Joe's Chocolate Fondue. It smells of rich chocolate.

The cons:  The calorie count and the serving size. How is this 7 servings? I'm borderline positive I consumed a serving with the spoon I used to stir it with.

The verdict:  For $2.99 this is quick to prepare, easy to make, minimal on making a mess in your kitchen, has a yearlong shelf life and has a really great taste. With anything Trader Joe's you are never sure of how long things will be on the shelves for. The next time I get a chance, I'll pick up a small stack of these.

Out of the package you get a block of chocolate:

After being microwaved for a minute on high and then about 90 seconds on 50% you get fondue that looks like this. The strawberries were to ensure a more balanced meal snack:

Would I buy this again? Yes, yes and yes. I do own a fondue pot, but due to its size I have to commit to eating quite a bit of chocolate. With this container you are more in control. The chocolate tasted like a mix of milk and dark chocolate. There was a distinct sweetness to the taste but the smell of a dark bittersweet chocolate. There was enough richness to make you stop (even though I could totally take a spoon and attempt to eat this). I'm also grateful for the design of this product. The cover went right back on and I can reheat this when I'm ready. I'm hoping this is not a seasonal item, this deserves a more permanent status.
