Maybe it's the middle of the week, maybe you just want to feel special. Who doesn't find a blue drink intriguing? So why not make yourself an I'm Feeling Blue Martini. It's a take on the classic martini, but to make it a little bit more special we are adding some Blue Curacao. Admit it, haven't you stared at someone else's drink (especially the colorful ones) and said, "Wow...what is that?" If you've ever said that to yourself you also thought to yourself "Wow. I want one of those." So here is the recipe for one of those I'm Feeling Blue Martini drinks. It will make you want to sit back, relax and turn on Eiffel 65 and listen to "I'm blue."

I'm Feeling Blue Martini

Ingredients for I'm Feeling Blue Martini

2 ounces vodka

1.5 Blue Curacao

1 ounce dry vermouth

Optional: Garnish with a citrus slice or just the rind for visual effects. I thought it was beautiful on its own.

Directions:

  1. Add ice to martini glass to chill
  2. I'm Feeling Blue Martini
  3. Combine all of the above ingredients in a shaker
  4. Add ice
  5. Shake for 15-30 seconds until thoroughly combined
  6. Strain into martini glass
  7. I'm Feeling Blue Martini
  8. Enjoy. Be the envy of your friends

That's a nice pick-me-up. Wish I had the ingredients. I won't tell the health fanatics in my family because I bet there's something unnatural about blue alcohol.

Unnatural yes. If you wanted more natural blend and strain blueberries. It will be more purple than blue, but still be fun and interesting.

I am not worried about the blue dye. Just downloaded Evernote today, based on a conversation through blogging and I was so excited because I could save this recipe to my phone/computer without Facebook or Pinterest. I am definitely going to try this.

Let me know what you think. If you like Martinis its good, but if some fruit juice is added it would probably also be good.

Yeah, I am not adding blueberries to start. My mother drank martinis, but I don't know if I ever had one. For some reason, I want to try this and I will let you know.

Just advise Mom that this is a Vodka martini not a Gin Martini. 🙂
