The pros:  Trader Joe's Chocolate Peppermint Almond Beverage is shelf stable (mine is good until October 2017, so about 11 months), gluten free, kosher, vegan if that is a concern to you or your family. I was surprise how good this was. This could easily pass as real chocolate milk with a slight and subtle but pleasant peppermint flavor.

The cons:  It's a nut product so anyone with allergies will obviously have to stay away. It's seasonal and I literally only saw this product once in my local Trader Joe's.

The verdict:  For $1.79, I was expecting based on the description something as similar as possible to chocolate milk with a bit of peppermint. Usually with almond milk it leaves me longing for real milk. That was not the case here. I absolutely adore having a glass of chocolate milk when I get home. This was just as good as any I've had in the grocery store.

It was creamy, but didn't remind me of whole milk, more like a 1% or 2% milk consistency. Really pleasant and likely a seasonal flavor. Worth a try if you are into the peppermint flavor of the season (or a complete weirdo like me who looks for peppermint all year). As the description said it would be good served hot or cold (or at room temperature if you just can't wait).

Would I buy this again? Yes. Best of all, I can leave Trader Joe's Chocolate Peppermint Almond Beverage on a shelf so I can get my peppermint chocolate fix throughout the year. Another good seasonal selection to try and possibly stock up on before they're gone. For $1.79 this is a bargain. In most grocery stores you'll be paying a premium for almond milk, while not the case with Trader Joe's. This flavor won't have you missing the dairy.

Trader Joe's Chocolate Peppermint Almond Beverage is vegan and kosher. It's also a winter seasonal item. My review follows.
