The pros:  Trader Joe's Spud Crunchies are a new and fun product that seems to be a hybrid of a french fry and a potato chip.

The cons:  This bag cannot be resealed, therefore it almost begs you to eat all four servings.

The verdict:  If you've ever had french fries and thought to yourself, "Self, I wonder if they can extend that crispness all the way through the fry almost like a potato chip." Well, consider your thoughts answered. Or at least your inner fat kid.

Trader Joe's loves to come up with snack foods that you did not know you needed in your life. This is one of them. I brought these home and they lasted about 24 hours. Perhaps there was a sense of urgency to consume them as the bag cannot be resealed. Worse though, is the fact that somehow this is four servings. I would say in a real world this is closer to about 2.

These could pass as french fries if it weren't for the texture here. They are cut into fries about the same size as you might expect from McDonalds. However, that crispy outside goes all the way through. These also tasted about as heavily as McDonald's french fries, so consider yourself warned.

For $1.99 this is another excellent addition to the snack aisle. Especially those of us too lazy to even make fries ourselves. This is the best of both worlds in one four serving not resealable bag. While it's not something I would buy all the time, I can see another bag going into my cart. They're worth a try at least once.

Would I buy this again? My stomach loved Trader Joe's Spud Crunchies, however it is really hard to stop eating these. Like any bag of snacks, it should be enjoyed in moderation. I'd like to buy this again even though my diet says I shouldn't. If calories did not count then I would buy this all the time.
