Trader Joe's Birthday Cake Candy Bar

The pros:  Trader Joe's Birthday Cake Candy Bar is new and is meant for white chocolate lovers. It has good textural elements to it.

The cons:  This item is very sweet.

The verdict:  For $1.49 you are getting a two ounce candy bar that is super festive in appearance. It's white chocolate with sprinkles and cookie crumbs. That means that this is sweet on sweet on sweet. This almost reminded me of having the chocolate equivalent of Funfetti cake.

Now, to be fair, if you don't like white chocolate, then this is certainly not for you. However, this is good quality white chocolate. Now, white chocolate is sweeter than most chocolates, but you know good white chocolate when you taste it. It's not on the same level as say Valrhona, but this isn't priced at that level either. The sprinkles retained quite a bit of their texture in this candy bar. I was wishing for a bit more in terms of the cookie crumbs.

Overall, I think that if someone handed this to me as a kid, I would have thought it was the greatest thing ever. If you have a sweet tooth, then this is something great to pick up. I enjoyed this. It was a bit too sweet for me, but I think a lot of people (and kids too) with a sweet tooth will enjoy this thoroughly.

Would I buy this again?  While fun to buy and try, I wouldn't repurchase this. It was very sweet, but has a very pleasant white chocolate taste. Overall, I think it's worth a try as a product.
