The pros: Â Trader Joe's Ciliegine Fresh Mozzarella is tasty and reasonably priced.
The cons: Â These have a salty outside, so some watching their salt levels might complain
The verdict: Â Trader Joe's Ciliegine Fresh Mozzarella is priced at $3.49. What you are getting is 8 ounces of little mozzarella balls. The term Ciliegine means cherry which is a direct reference to the size of these. You can have three of these little mozzarella balls as one serving. The mozzarella is soft but not burrata soft, nor is this as firm in texture as say a packaged mozzarella like Polly-O. This can be eaten as a snack or made into an appetizer. What makes a good cheese is the salt level. These are sitting in water that says it's lightly salted, but the saltiness seems firmly placed on the outside of the mozzarella balls.
Overall, these are priced well, are tasty and there is very little to complain about. Another gem in the cheese aisle.
