Trader Joe's Organic Rose Vinaigrette Review pin for Pinterest

It's not often that I don't like something here. I'm not trying to be overly kind. I try to be objective on things. However, there are some items that hit my pantry and I need to call them what they are: basic. And Trader Joe's Organic Rose Vinaigrette is just that.

Taste

Behold. A vinaigrette. Three dressings landed at the same time: this rose, a sesame, and a fig.

Other than being labeled organic there is absolutely nothing special about the contents of this bottle. And in fact, I feel it is a long list of missed opportunities.

For $3.49, the bar is just a bit higher. This isn't some $1.99 dressing. This is nearly double that.

Then there is the taste. I was hoping for some semblance of rose. It's faint at best. Put it on a salad and whatever rose I could taste disappears.

And then there are the ingredients. Why high oleic sunflower oil? It's flavorless.

At least if they had used unrefined sunflower oil, there would have been an added layer of flavor. Even good olive oil can add more flavor. But here, nothing.

Overall

If you can get some oil you like, some red wine vinegar, and some Italian seasoning, then you'll have something better than what is in this jar. Not as convenient. But certainly cheaper. If I'm going to drop nearly $4 on a bottle of dressing, especially a vinaigrette, it better be something special.

Here you just have expensive basic dressing.

Will I buy this again? No, I will not buy Trader Joe's Organic Rose Vinaigrette again.

I think using rose extract might be useful. Or using actual rose wine in there. Seems Rose being popular nowadays.

Hey Alek! This needed something. I'd like some wine taste, but there wasn't much here. Far too basic for my tastes. You can do better making this on your own. Thanks again for stopping by!

Thank you for reviewing this. I had read about this product and was curious but also hesitant. I wasn't sure quite what to expect and if it would be worth it to give it a try. I don't think this dressing is for me.

Hey Dag! I hope you have less snow than last time! And yes, this and the sesame dressing are ok to skip. I tried the sesame and that might be the same verdict too. I couldn't imagine putting it on a salad. Thanks again for stopping by!

I purchased all 3 of the new dressings. I have already returned the Balsamic and Fig dressing. I didn't like it at all. This one and the sesame are ok but I agree that for the price you would expect something better.

Hey Debbie! Thanks for sharing this. I've been dragging my feet as the rose should have knocked it out of the park. Thanks so much for stopping by!

I can't tell in your review if you are disappointed in a lack of rose (flower) taste or a lack of rosé (wine) taste - can you clarify? The comments above seem a little confused too. For me personally I'm not sure that I would be able to taste much difference between a rosé vinaigrette versus a red wine vinaigrette. Maybe versus a champagne vinaigrette.

Hey Ali! It was the lack of rosé (wine) taste. I make my own dressing from time to time (and yes, bourbon dressing is a thing in my household). So I couldn't taste the difference between this something made with just a wine based vinegar. That's where I was bummed out. I think it's completely possible, but for the price, I'd like the taste. Thanks so much for stopping by!
