Trader Joe's Peanut Butter Protein Granola review

The pros: Trader Joe's Peanut Butter Protein Granola is a very tasty snack or topping that is full of peanut butter flavor.

The cons: This is not a low-calorie snack and is very easy to keep popping a few handfuls at a time. There is a decent amount of added sugar as well.

The verdict:  Trader Joe's Peanut Butter Protein Granola review

For the most part, I don't get to many cereal related items on this blog. I don't care for cereal items that much nor do I like yogurt.

Which helps explain why I've walked past this item so many times. It's an aisle that I pretty much walk right on through to get to everything else.

I have a lot of long hours this week. I know I won't be able to get to a store so I grabbed a lot of grab and go items to enjoy during my 12 hour days.

Normally, I walk right past these items, but this week there are some long days so I was willing to grant an exception.

I'm so disappointed that I did not try this sooner.

Recently, I tried Trader Joe's Peanut Butter Cartwheel cookies. I love the flavor of peanut butter. I also love cookies as a snack, but I wanted something where I would not feel hungry five minutes later.

The clusters are of all different sizes. Some big clusters while others are much smaller.

These clusters are full of peanut butter flavor and have peanuts added in. There is a sweetness here too, but not so sweet it tastes like eating Reese Pieces.

For $3.49 these are reasonably priced, tasty, and a good item to try. Just be aware that this bag says 6 servings. I found that I polished it off in almost three servings. Not good on the calorie side of things. But unlike having a bag of chips, this did not leave me feeling empty.

I found each bite satisfying in all of its slightly sweet, rolled oat and peanut butter glory.

Love your website! Just out of curiosity, is there a “protein powder” taste at all? Some people taste a chalkiness of the added protein, or a grittiness.

Hey Sarah! Thanks for your kind words. There was a bit of chalkiness but I wasn't sure if that was the oats or the powder. This has a strong peanut and peanut butter flavor which came through much stronger than any other flavors. Best of all it was filling. Worst of all, it was easy to much on the whole bag in a couple sittings. I hope that helps!

Hey Ttrockwood! Yes, this was a really pleasant surprise for me and yes, it was very peanut buttery. I feel the same way. Thanks again for taking the time out of your day to stop by and share!
