Sometimes we just have appetizers for dinner. The last time I walked out of Stew Leonard's,  I had an odd assortment of items. This assortment should serve as reminder as to why grocery lists are essential. I walked out of there with essentials like milk. Everything else in my cart was an appetizer. Clearly, I have no interest in dinner or putting together a meal. My husband and I don't get a chance to eat together often as we don't work the same shift nor do we have the same days off. So cooking a big dinner is a pointless. So sometimes it's just easier to have appetizers in the refrigerator for when either one of us are home. So one of the appetizers that ended up in my cart was Stew Leonard's Mini Chicken Cordon Bleu. It was a hit with both of us.

The pros:  These are literally mini chicken cordon bleu's without there being too much chicken. They were tasty. Even the blue cheese dressing added a little something, but can be made optional if you are not a fan.

The cons:  The directions for heating this product were left off. Don't worry, I timed it and included it below.

The verdict:  For $7.99, these aren't cheap. Freezer food is cheaper, but you do take a hit in quality. These are just tasty. They are about the size of a large meatball, but contain all of the goodness of a chicken cordon blue. My only complaint was that the label left off how long to reheat these. I would recommend against reheating them in the microwave as you'll want to enjoy the breading on the outside. Heated in the toaster oven there wasn't a bit of sogginess. You'll want your toaster oven or regular oven set at 350F for 11-14 minutes. That will give you that warm cheesy filling with just a bit of ham in it. There was just enough chicken here to be tasty. My husband is no fan of chicken, but he liked these. Each one of these is about two bites, so you might still want the fork and knife. If you are eating these as finger food, they weren't greasy in anyway. You'll still want a napkin as they filling might leak out when you take a bite. The breading stayed put. Just a nice balance of salty, cheesy, and crunchy. If you need a bit of acidity, they've included a package of blue cheese dressing. I wasn't so sure about the combination, but it really worked. Another well done item from Stew Leonard's. I'll definitely repurchase this item.

The ingredients:

How to prepare:  This information was left off of the package. Here is what I came up with: 350F- 11 minutes makes these just warm but 14 minutes will ensure the middle is hot and gooey

Out of the package you get:

Stew Leonard's Mini Chicken Cordon Bleu

Stew Leonard's Mini Chicken Cordon Bleu after being cooked and cut in half you get:

Would I buy this again? Heck yea. My husband and I both really liked Stew Leonard's Mini Chicken Cordon Bleu and he is not a fan of chicken. They're well done,
