Summer doesn't last forever. But the flavors of summer should. Fresh fruit is one of those classic summer flavors. The mango flavor in Trader Joe's Mango Macarons were bright and refreshing. This flavor has been in Trader Joe's for a while, so hopefully it will stick around. Here is what you get for $4.99 per box.
The pros: Â These are a solid choice in the freezer section. They are seasonal. The entire package is the same flavor
The cons:  If you do not enjoy the flavor of mango, then reach for the Macaron Variety Pack or the Chocolate and Vanilla package.
The verdict: Â If you enjoy the flavor of both mango and macarons, then this is a solid choice to reach for. I haven't encountered a variety that I didn't like. It's just a matter of which variety you will enjoy more. They defrost quickly and can be left on your counter at room temperature for a few days. The question will be if they will last on your counter without you or someone else eating them. At 100 calories for three cookie sandwiches, these are also diet friendly. I've bought these several times.

Allow to thaw for 30 minutes or so. I've left them in a plastic container overnight.
How do they taste? Like summer in a cookie. They are the best 100 calories you can have. If you enjoy the flavor of mango, then this one is for you as it's an entire package of one flavor as opposed to the variety pack where there are hits and misses depending on the flavor you like most. Definitely a go to dessert in the freezer section.
