The pros:  Quick, easy and fast to put together. Trader Joe's Mixed Berry Scones Mix only requires water to come together. Were ready in under 20 minutes from start to finish.

The cons:  Light on the mixed berry. You might want to keep some freeze fried berries on hand to add into this mix.

The verdict:  For $3.69 these are a pretty good deal in the baking aisle of Trader Joe's. The mix says you get about 12 and I got 13 out of it. They came out looking exactly like the picture on the box. They are best out of the oven. They are slightly sweet but also have an acidity to them from the mixed berries consisting of blueberries, blackberries, and raspberries. However, some of the pictures would have you believe you are biting into something that will be full of berry flavor. The last picture of this review will show you that most of the pieces of fruit will gravitate towards the top. Not a deal breaker. I would also consider keeping some of Trader Joe's freeze dried fruit on hand in case you want to add more, but be sure to chop it up and keep an eye on the moisture level as much of the water is needed to rehydrate the mix. I'd buy this again.

Out of the package you get a mix that looks like this and with one ingredient necessary:Trader Joe's Mixed Berry Scones Mix

Mixed the two without over mixing. You don't need a mixer for this.:Trader Joe's Mixed Berry Scones Mix

I actually managed to get 13 scones from the mix:

Would I buy this again? For me, like the Trader Joe's Chocolate Chip Scone Mix, Trader Joe's Mixed Berry Scones Mix suffered from the same flaw, they were both very light on the ingredient that made them special. In this case the mixed berries were present but not as much as I would have liked. Odds are you can remedy the situation by adding some freeze dried ones from Trader Joe's but take care to chop them before throwing them in as you want them to rehydrate. These are tasty with a nice bite of acidity from the freeze dried fruit. They took almost no time to come together and were ready in about 15 minutes. I'd buy these again.

I almost bought these the other day then I told myself "Nah, I will just make some from scratch". I have not. Now I want scones but I want someone to bring them to me while I lay in bed. Since I'm realizing that that isn't happening I think I will just stare at your scones instead and wish. My butt cheeks will thank me later for not eating carbs I suppose.

I enjoyed Berry Scone mix a great deal , especially when adding raisons and dried cranberries to the mix ... when my wife & I shopped at Trader Joe's in the past , I went straight to the scone mix and would pick up 10 or so boxes ...... unfortunately, Trader Joe's apparently is no longer carrying the scone mix .... the company that made the mix for them is not listed on the box .... so, if that company name or contact info is available, I would have interest .... so that I might buy the same or similar product on line , whether by the box or a case .... going to Trader Joe's has become a little less a joy for me !!!

Hey George! It's a bummer they discontinued this. However, you can always ask them to consider bringing them back. You can write to them here: https://www.traderjoes.com/contact-us/product-feedback

Or if you want, I posted a recipe for scones. Mix all the dry ingredients together and store in a plastic bag. When you are ready add all the wet ingredients together and bake per the instructions. I hope that helps. And yes, you can use pretty much any freeze-dried fruit of your liking here: https://www.becomebetty.com/strawberry-scones/

      I hope that helps!
