Trader Joe's Camembert Cheese and Cranberry Sauce Fillo Bites

The pros:  Trader Joe's Camembert Cheese and Cranberry Sauce Fillo Bites are crunchy, flaky, tasty appetizer that I found addicting. Cranberry adds just enough acid to make this exciting on the palate. Serve this at a party and these will disappear.

The cons:  Only 8 pieces come in a package. Watch cooking times. Mine were done in 8 minutes in a convection toaster oven.

The verdict:  For $3.99, this is small but a really tasty treat. While only 8 come in a package, these would be great to serve to guests (as long as you buy a few of these boxes) or a perfect tangy and cheesy sack.

These are the right balance of smooth melty cheese that has a lot of similarities to brie. A small dash of cranberry sauce that added just the right amount of acidity. Without it this would not be the same. The fillo adds both crunch and a flaky texture that might make a small mess so cocktail napkins or a plate are a must with serving these. I'll be picking more of these up. These are seasonal, so if you see them and like them, they'll disappear sometime around the New Year.

Would I buy this again? Yes. Add this to your list of awesome appetizers. Would be great for the holidays, New Year's Eve, a family get together or even watching a game with friends. Just be warned, the fillo will make a mess due to it's flaky nature. Awesome flavor that I hope will not end up being seasonal. It's absolutely worth a try in the freezer aisle of Trader Joe's.
