Trader Joe's Chicken Noodle Soup with Veggies

The pros: Trader Joe's Chicken Noodle Soup with Veggies is basic chicken noodle soup. Nothing terrible, but nothing standout either. It's shelf stable

The cons:  Save this for when you are sick and can't taste anything.

The verdict:  When you are a teacher, you are guaranteed to go back to work and within days the first cold of the year is circulate the class by the end of the second week of school. Some years we seem to not even get out of the first week before someone is sick. Thus, chicken soup should be a staple in most households.

Trader Joe's does offer a variety of chicken soup options. For $1.99 you are getting a box of soup instead of in the can or the plastic container sold in the refrigerated section. In each box there are lots of noodles, however the noodles a bit mushy which is a common theme when you are dealing with prepackaged soups. I found that, thought I was perfectly healthy while eating it, I pushed them to the side and consumed everything else.

The broth was good and was well seasoned, but not salty. There were some veggies present like carrots and celery, but they were far outnumbered to the amount of pasta sitting in this broth. While this is a good as a pantry item,  Trader Joe's Kettle Cooked Chicken soup is superior in very single way. The biggest difference is price and shelf life here.

If you have a cold, Trader Joe's Chicken Noodle Soup with Veggies is perfectly acceptable because odds are you can barely taste anything anyways. Overall, if I had to choose I would reach for the refrigerated kettle cooked chicken soup first and then some chicken broth next, then I would consider buying this again if the other who were unavailable. This product isn't bad, but it won't wow you either.

Would I buy this again?  For the most part, no, I would not buy Trader Joe's Chicken Noodle Soup with Veggies. I might keep a box in case of emergency, but it's not the chicken soup I would reach for.
