The pros: Trader Joe's Cocoa Filled Pinwheel Cookies are a beautiful and whimsical cookie with a delicious filling.

The cons: The cookie isn't as flavorful as it could be. In fact, it's a bit bland.

The verdict:  I'm nearly positive that my Mom packed me at least a cookie or two every day for lunch. I'm happy to also report this habit has not changed much into adulthood.

For better or worse of a habit, this beautiful cookie landed in my cart. It's been on shelves for a while now, but I just had not gotten around to trying it. The packaging is as pretty as the cookie that waits for you inside.

This is a case of pictures matching the actual product. This cookie is pretty. The box is pretty small too. It only contains 9 cookies, but is pretty cheap at $1.79. I've visited the deli by work and spent far more on far less of a mid-afternoon snack.

While the visual highlight here is the cookie, the star is the filling. It reminded me of Trader Joe's Almond Cocoa Spread. That's both a good thing and bad thing.

That cocoa spread is awesome and almost Nutella like. Here is my struggle: that beautiful cookie is so very plain and just doesn't highlight the flavors in the center.

That cocoa almond spread is phenomenal on its own. But the cookie here hides the filling and dilutes it. But then again, it's a reasonable deal at under $2 a box. It's portion controlled too because there are only 9 cookies to had.

I had no problems polishing off the box, this was different from the other cookies on the shelves, but I'm not sure if this was enough of a standout to purchase again.

Here is the visual run down of what you get if you buy this product:

Would I buy this again? For $1.79 for a box, Trader Joe's Cocoa Filled Pinwheels made for a decent snack. There are still just 9 cookies in a box, however, I'm not sure I would buy these again.

Even not being much of a cookie eater if they made these filled with their cookie butter cocoa swirl spread I would eat them.....lol. As is they sound a little ho-hum.

If you enjoy the cookie butter cocoa swirl or the cocoa almond spread, those were as good without the slightly unnecessary cookie. Just sayin'

When you write that you polished off the box - was that in one sitting?

Hey Joe! I can say that I did not polish them off in a single sitting. My husband is very helpful with certain foods around the house. Nine cookies did not last very long. Thanks so much much for stopping by!
