The pros: The concept of Trader Joe's Dark Chocolate Crisps is good and decent dark chocolate is used but is on the sweet side.
The cons: Although shaped like a Pringles potato chip, I was secretly hoping this would essentially taste like a chocolate covered potato chip (it didn’t).
The verdict:  For $2.49 you get about 36 crisps in a package. Inside the package the crisps are neatly placed in rows. What comes out of the rows are similar shaped chocolates that are shaped like a Pringles. Seeing the name Crisps and seeing the shape I was hoping for an experience like a chocolate covered potato chip. Unfortunately, that was not to be. While there was some crispiness provided by some puffed rice, there wasn’t quite enough of it. In fact I much prefer the crispness of Trader Joe’s Golden Spiced Milk Chocolate bar (but not the flavor).
This would be a great place to introduce people to the texture of puffed quinoa. Instead of puffed quinoa, it was tiny puffed rice. The chocolate here didn’t amaze me here either. For a dark chocolate, it was still sweeter than I think was necessary. It reminded me of a chocolate that was more similar in sweetness to a Hershey’s Special Dark bar. None of elements made me say wow or want to shelf clear at Trader Joe’s.
This tasted fine, but wasn’t amazing in anyway. I'll eat the rest of this box, but I won't be repurchasing.

Would I buy this again? For me, Trader Joe's Dark Chocolate Crisps is a novelty. Furthermore, but could have been executed much better. It's in no way a bad product, but there are so many great choices of chocolates in Trader Joe's.
