Happy Holidays and now happy (almost) New Year. I hope this time of year brings you rest, relaxation, and a quiet wind down to the rest of the year. I apologize for the brief hiatus between this post and the previous one. This time of year does require some R&R time. The holidays can be exhausting, enjoyable, and demanding.

But fortunately, a product like this is meant for that rest and relaxation time. And as of 2020, this has been moved from a seasonal item to one that can be found on shelves all year round.

Testing and review

Over the last week, I've made a few trips to Trader Joe's. Perhaps for some last-minute shopping. Well, Trader Joe's doesn't seem to be the place to grab things at the last minute.

My local stores were almost totally cleared of holiday items in this final push to the holidays.

I was actually on a run to get more of Trader Joe's Bath Fizzers when I stumbled upon this item.

For $11.99, this is pretty reasonably priced compared to some brands of essential oil. There is just shy of one ounce of essential oil in these bottles.

And like all things Holiday 2018, it seems that this is packaged as a trio.

Now, I know the essential oil crowd is super passionate about this topic. I'm only going to dive into how they smell. Each one is pretty darn potent. But that could be because the tops of these are a bit more generous with the contents than others.

Some bottles of this size take a good shake to get a dropout. Nope, not here.

These, if you tip them to the side for a brief moment you'll get several drops.

I've been using them with these:

One of Trader Joe's 4 Wool Dryer Balls on a pink background

Well, the reviews are positive in my household regardless of whether we are using it in the laundry (and yes, the dryer balls are from New Zealand too), in the diffuser, or with a drop or two in a bath. All three aromas were sufficiently strong by using a few drops.

These are NOT meant to be consumed but are enjoyable as a bit of aromatherapy. And if you were eagle-eyed enough, the diffuser did come in a variety of colors to perhaps match your home decor (or where ever these are going to end up).

Overall

Would I buy this again? I wish I could buy Trader Joe's Essential Oil Collection again. This was one of those short-run products that I saw once and then never again. Which is a kind of a bummer because I really feel a product like this does belong in the lineup.

If you celebrate Christmas or any other holiday this time of year, from my family to yours I hope you have a happy and healthy New Year!

And if you've missed it on shelves, you can find this through third-party sellers on Amazon also.

Did you try it?  Let me know what you think in the comments section!

Summary

A trio of essential oils with a functional diffuser

  • Value
  • Worthy of Repurchasing

Pros

  • These smell pretty good and are a good size for the money
  • Diffuser colors varied so perhaps purple wasn't your thing, I saw blues, greens, and rainbow colors

Cons

  • Super limited run. I think I saw this item once or twice before it was completely sold out
  • As far as essential oils go, I'm no expert. All I'm using it for is for diffusing and laundry

I love essential oils. If I didn't already have so many I would certainly buy this product. I hadn't thought about using them in the dryer so thanks for the tip. I have used them in my electric aromatherapy diffuser, used them to make scented sugar body/hand scrubs, as a car air freshener, soaked a cotton ball and placed at the bottom of a trash can as a deodorizer etc. So many uses....

I so wanted to try this but missed out - will definitely be on the lookout should they do another. I got hit with a cold for about a week and it seriously impacted my Trader Joe's holiday shopping! Minor complaint which I'll just have to make up for in the new year. Happy 2019 to you!

I have this set and also love it! How long ago did you get the wool dryer balls? I've been looking for them but haven't seen them in my TJ's...

Hey Cassie! I got the dryer balls before the holiday season. I've seen them on and off. They're with the household items and it is really hit or miss if they have them. I haven't needed any more so I haven't been looking for them either.

That makes sense, thank you! I’ll keep my eye out, I’ve noticed that a handful of the best things at Traded Joe’s are seasonal ah!!
