It started to feel like summer last week in NYC. Fortunately, the weather has cooled off for a bit. I love summery drinks. I love them in the winter, fall, spring and yes, in the summer too. For $2.49 you are getting 32 ounces of mixer which should be enough for 16 margaritas.
I did not drink this without alcohol, but I'm sure it would make a good virgin drink. Just be aware Trader Joe's Margarita Mixer is not a low calorie drink. This has as many calories as juice without any vitamins or minerals attached. Now, to be clear, most people won't mistake this for a diet or low calorie drink.
With alcohol, and following the directions on back. It made a well balanced, but slightly sweet drink. If you salt the rim of your glass, it will cut through the sweetness. As a general rule of thumb, I won't use a lime to rim and hope to keep anything attached. I rarely find it works. In place, I used some agave and rimmed the glass with salt. If you are wondering, the agave acts like glue and keeps the salt firmly place on the rim of the glass. In the dishwasher I have no problems getting my glassware clean.
The recipe attached has good balance, but won't get you wrecked. It's alcoholic and light enough where the drink can be savored and enjoyed. The recipe is a guide, so feel free to tinker with the ratios involved.
But as a mixer, it's pretty good. I might repurchase it. I just wish they offered more mixers. Yes, many of their drinks on their own do serve as mixers, but you'll need some basic bartending skills to come up with something well balanced. Which, as long as you can shake a drink, then you've got the basics down.

Unfortunately I don't know who manufactured it and Trader Joe's is usually reluctant to release such information. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Ugh 😩 we are too! Our whole neighborhood is in dismay. We’ve been sampling others and nothing is quite like it.

Hi Katelyn! I have 1 bottle left here. I'll see if I can work on a dupe.
