Let's be real, when you think of Southern comfort food, pimento cheese is right up there with fried chicken and sweet tea. Trader Joe's knows this, so they went and put their own spin on this classic with their Pimento Cheese Dip. Priced at around $4.99, it's creamy, cheesy, and suspiciously addictive. But is it a must-have for your fridge, or just another tub of orange goo?

Review
Trader Joe's Pimento Cheese Dip comes in an 11-ounce container that practically screams, "Open me, I'm delicious!" (Okay, maybe that's just me talking to my fridge at midnight.) Inside, you'll find a creamy blend of shredded cheddar cheese and mayonnaise, pimentos, and just enough spice to keep things interesting. The texture is thick and spreadable-perfect for slathering on crackers, toast, or even sneaking spoonfuls straight from the tub (no shame here).
I popped the lid and was instantly greeted by a whiff of cheesy goodness, with a little zing from the pimentos. It looked inviting-like that Southern grandma at the family reunion who insists you eat second and third helpings.
Trader Joe's Pimento Cheese Dip is all about balance. It's creamy and cheesy with a gentle tang, but it's not overly spicy or overwhelmingly mayo-y (which some grocery store versions can be). The cheddar cheese gives it richness, while the pimentos add that signature Southern flair. Overall, it's mild but flavorful-like the cheese dip that's been to etiquette school.
This dip is thick, with real shreds of cheese throughout. It's spreadable enough for crackers and sandwiches, but sturdy enough to stand up to a sturdy tortilla chip. It's not runny or gloopy, which I appreciate
What I Loved:
- It's got that perfect cheesy tang that makes it super snackable.
- The consistency is just right-smooth but with enough texture to feel substantial.
- It's easy to eat straight from the tub (don't judge me).
What I'd Change:
It could use a touch more salt or seasoning to really pop.
A little more zing wouldn't hurt-some versions of pimento cheese come with a peppery kick that's missing here.

How to Serve It
- Straight from the Tub: Midnight snackers, unite!
- With Crackers: The classic move-like, why mess with tradition?
- On Sandwiches: This makes a killer spread on toasted bread or even dolloped on top of a burger.
- As a Dip: Pair with tortilla chips, pretzels, or veggie sticks.

FAQs about Trader Joe's Pimento Cheese Dip
The following are commonly asked questions about this product:
Not really. It's mild, so you won't be reaching for a glass of milk after every bite.
Check the label, but most versions are naturally gluten-free since it's just cheese, mayo, and pimentos.
Technically yes, but it's best enjoyed cold or at room temperature for that creamy texture.

Final Thoughts
Trader Joe's Pimento Cheese Dip might not reinvent the wheel, but it sure makes it cheesier. It's creamy, flavorful, and easy to love-just the thing for crackers, sandwiches, or sneaky spoonfuls when no one's looking. If you're in the mood for a Southern classic done Trader Joe's style, this is a fridge staple you won't regret.

Maybe it would be great in mac & cheese. A dollop of it.

I absolutely love this product. It is excellent on just a toasted English muffin but I love it even more as a pimento cheese roasted chicken quesadilla! Also makes an excellent heirloom tomato and pimento cheese quesadilla.

I grew up eating pimento cheese sandwiches and my Dad made the best pimento cheese and this was such a close representation that I don't think my Dad would have been able to tell the difference. Lets just say that I was pleasantly surprised at the quality and taste of the pimento cheese dip but since I don't do white bread anymore I had to get crackers to eat the pimento cheese on but this will be a regular buy for me at Trader Joe's.
