An unopened Trader Joe's Raspberry and White Chocolate Bundt Cake

Confession time: I'm really not a white chocolate fan. I don't know what it is about it, but there are very few brands that I actually like. When I do have good white chocolate I know it right away. White chocolate is like tequila to me: the cheap stuff gives me an instant headache.

Tasting and Review

Now, for the most part, I had no intention of picking up this product.

I don't need any more sugar in my life nor do I need to add $7.99 to my checkout bill.

But the dang sample station got to me. And as the old adage goes: never go to the grocery store hungry. Unfortunately, hunger hit, and this was the sample of the day.

I've had samples before (or more honestly every time I go to the store). Some have either inspired reviews or some items I made the decision that that item won't even be reviewed here because I detested it so much.

Well, this is one of those items and one of those pangs of hunger where I had a slice and I was in pure bliss.

I saw the cake. I wasn't wild about the idea of raspberry and white chocolate but knew it would be a bit before I headed home.

I had a slice. And I liked it.

I liked it enough to bring a whole cake home with me.

Now, it does have a limited shelf life so some of it will be sliced and wrapped to be placed in the freezer for a day in the future.

But each slide was soft, tender, and was far more heavily in the raspberry than white chocolate. In fact, I only got subtle tastes of the white chocolate from time to time which is actually much appreciated.

Best of all the top had what seemed to be larger crystals of sugar giving a few bites a subtle crunch.

Overall

A pretty solid cake if you are planning on having company. Or if you are enjoying your own company. It is one of the larger baked items available.

Would I buy this again? Trader Joe's Raspberry and White Chocolate Bundt Cake isn't going to be a regular purchase, but it is a safe bet if you are looking to have something sweet in the house.

I have to agree with you on white chocolate. I hate white chocolate by itself but if it is blended with other flavors like raspberries or even dark chocolate blend then it's fine.

I love TJ's sample station! Every time I go; sometimes it throws off my list. Dang you TJ's! *plucks item from the demo station in the cart*. Cake looks yummy and it would make a nice birthday cake and lie to guests that you went through all the trouble to make the cake.

TJ's demo station to me is always top notch better than other stores sample/demo station. Always quick with the samples; slinging out fast with no wait to minimal wait less than 5 minutes. Tired of excuses from the other demo stations "oh we just fresh out! Come back like in 10 minutes" or "lunch break" or "oh we just closed up shop. Oh well!". Not with TJ's and I love that it's guilt free that you can take several of the samples without being yelled at from the employees. I have been yelled at in one of a big warehouse store when they were serving a delicious chocolate pastry but it was a tiny silver and I just wanted one more. Employee said "ONE SAMPLE! GOODBYE!"

Speaking of white chocolate & raspberry I got a free bar of the Raspberry Rose Chocolate. I was at my Trader Joe's this weekend & was asking the manager if anyone had tried it thinking that it was ruby cacao chocolate. He said he hadn't but asked me if I wanted a free bar to try it out & give feedback. Lol- obviously my TJs knows me well. So as it turns out it's white chocolate with freeze-dried raspberry powder. I normally hate white chocolate it is not real chocolate to me but this is actually interesting. You might want to try it.

No picture of the unwrapped, sliced product; so sad, but it sounds yummy.
