The pros:Â Trader Joe's Rose Water Facial Toner is a very different type of toner. This is far more moisturizing than other brands out there.
The cons: Can be hard to find from time to time. If you are sensitive to smells, then the rose might not be ideal near your face.
The verdict: Â
So recently I gave Trader Joe's Rose Facial Oil a try. It reappeared on shelves after I had missed trying it the first time it appeared. Not too long after posting it, I heard from a bunch of people who said this was something worth a try.
So I figured, if that many people are telling me about it, it must be good. I was a bit hesitant at first because when I think of toner, I tend to think of a product that is more drying than anything else.
Now, for the most part my skin is pretty sensitive. I remember working my first job and my boss asked if I had any lotion. I offered my Bath and Body Works Berry scented lotion. I was honest with what it was and he did not care. He took some and used it for his face.
I was dumbfounded.
I was envious.
As were most of the other women in the office who heard the conversation. For the most part, lotion for hands and lotion for the face cannot mix. The end result is usually disastrous. Either the fragrance would be too strong or my pores would not be able to handle it.
Clearly, some people just aren't sensitive to certain things. I think I've avoided this too because of the thought of a fragrance that close to my face. But it dissipates pretty quickly.
The most important aspect here is how my face feels afterwards. I can wear moisturizer before bed, add some in the morning and be dry by mid afternoon (unless the New York humidity kicks in).
Well, after a few spritzes of this, my face did not feel so parched. It actually felt somewhat hydrated. It goes on like any fine mist. But through some magic that dry feeling went away.
After a couple days of use, this is a keeper. I don't seem to be breaking out from it. While the product is good, the price is even better at $3.99. This is inexpensive and worth a try if your skin is on the dryer side of things.
This is sold year round at Trader Joe's, but you can also find some third party sellers on Amazon if you aren't close to a Trader Joe's.

A little hint. Pump 1-2 squirts of the rose oil into the toner spray bottle. Shake between uses. Makes it even more moisturizing!!!!! Tried it and works great.

Brenda- after reading your review of the ultra moisturizing gel today I went back to the reviews of the rose oil and the rose toner which I still use religiously. I actually don't shower every morning and on those days where I shower the night before or I'm in between showers I use the rose toner mixed with a little bit of the rose oil on a cotton pad to cleanse my face in the a.m. followed by a hydrating facial primer. I was using their hyaluronic gel to moisturize my skin post that but I actually found it kind of drying in and by itself over a course of weeks so I kind of stopped using it. I really wish they would come out with a facial primer for pre makeup!

Hey Dag! I wouldn't be surprised if they start expanding the health/beauty aisle a bit. It's underrated and less trafficked but shouldn't be. I would love to see a primer too. Oh well, only time will tell. Thanks so much for sharing!
