I absolutely adored Trader Joe’s Molten Chocolate Macarons. I dream about them. With vanilla ice cream to cut through the deep luscious chocolate. If I'm not buying a variety pack, the mango, or the pumpkin, I'm buying the big chocolate ones. Because at Trader Joe's I can afford to be affluent like that. At $2.99 for 2 giant macarons Trader Joe's Salted Butterscotch Macarons are a pretty good deal.
The good: Â Two large macarons that act like a lava cake but....
The bad: Â Salted butterscotch filling that reminded me of burnt caramel. Not what I hoped it would be. In fact I ended up scraping it out and just eating the cookie to not waste the cookie.
The verdict: Â Stick with the chocolate variety.

What I found when I opened the box:
After spending 40 seconds in the microwave:
After taking a bite my hopes and dreams were crushed. I adore the sweet and salty combinations. Salted caramel is my thing. This however left butterscotch and went to a burnt sugar taste that I couldn't wait to get out of my mouth. I felt like I could have turned into Gordon Ramsay in my disappointment. So I'll nibble on the other macaron in the box. I'll avoid microwaving it in an effort to salvage the amazing cookie that is a macaron. Sorry, so not a fan of this.
