The pros:  Trader Joe's Shredded Swiss and Gruyere Cheese is tasty cheese blend already shredded, freezes well, can be used for so many items. Would likely make a good cheese crisp for a salad or snacking. I had some shredding slip off of my grilled cheese sandwich, they bubbled up and were quite tasty (the grilled cheese was good too).

    The cons:  Nothing noticeable.

The verdict:  For $4.99 for 12 ounces, this is a pretty good deal when you compare how much a good quality Swiss or Gruyere will set you back. The last time I went to a grocery store I spent close to double the price for the same amount of product. This melts very well. It's more Swiss than Gruyere, but depending on how you use this product will determine if you will notice or not. I originally planned to use this to top French Onion soup, but never got around to it. All of it ended up on as a grilled Swiss. It was stringy and delicious. Just salty enough too. What I found the most interesting was when some of the shreds didn't stay in the sandwich and instead bubbled and grilled themselves in the pan they reminded me of Trader Joe’s Oven Baked Cheese Bites in a more Swiss type of way. I'll experiment with this the next time I buy it and see if this product would make for some really good cheese crisps.

Would I buy this again? Yes. Trader Joe's Shredded Swiss and Gruyere Cheese Blend may even make delicious cheese bites but I'll get back to you on that. The cheese that escaped from the grilled cheese became nice and crisp.
