The pros: It’s a quesadilla with veggies in it. Trader Joe’s Southwest Chicken Quesadillas is $3.69 which isn’t a terrible deal as you get 2 quesadilla individually wrapped in each box.
The cons: Texture wise everything blended together. There really weren’t distinct things about the filling, but much like a stew all the flavors and textures were just the same.
The verdict: A completely average quesadilla. There is a good amount of filling, but it doesn’t stand out from any other brand that I’ve ever tried before. There are too many other standouts in the freezer section, so I wouldn’t run out and buy this again. It didn’t taste bad, but if you’ve had any other freezer quesadilla it tastes exactly the same.
The nutritional information:
What you get out of the box (there are 2 in each box):
And if you are wondering, it looks exactly the same before and after the microwave. In terms of taste and texture it was all monotonous. It wasn’t a “wow this is cheesy” or “wow such wonderful chunks of chicken.” It was none of that and that disappointed me. I was looking forward to that experience in a quesadilla, but it was all the same mashed up same tasting filling in the center. What a bummer. And unless I decide I really need a quesadilla, I’ll head to my local Mexican establishment for something far more enjoyable.
