I've reviewed a number of things at Trader Joes. If there is a testimony to how much you like something, it's how often you repurchase something. Trader Joe's Sriracha Potato Chips are something I keep buying every time I see it.
The chip aisle is one of the busier aisle in the store. Only the freezer aisle is harder to navigate. Within the chips are odd ball flavors with some more familiar offerings mixed in. Now, I know Sriracha is one of the "hottest" flavors (popularity of it being thrown in everything, not actual heat). This one achieves a unique balance.
If you enjoy a good waffle cut potato chip, then this will be your thing as long as you enjoy an smidge of heat. Yes, it's labeled Sriracha but it is no where near as spicy. The heat is present but will not prevent you from eating an entire bag. Heat has the potential to be numbing on the taste buds when it is overwhelming. This maintains a salty and umami deliciousness. Taste and heat mixed together in a perfect little chip. For $2.29 it's an excellent value.
What else can you do with this little gem? If you have a favorite potato crusted chicken recipe, crush them up and use this in their place. It will remind you of buffalo chicken but baked instead.
