The pros: Trader Joe's Pepperoni Pizza was crispy and and had lots of pepperoni.
The cons: More sauce than was necessary and my pepperoni wasn't evenly placed. I know that seems a bit petty, but when cut into 4 slices there was actually one plain slice.
The verdict: For $4.99 this is one of the better sections in the frozen pizza section of Trader Joe's. The pizza was hot and ready in under 10 minutes. The crust was very crisp to bite into. The bottom managed to get some of the same crispness in just 8 minutes. Had I left it in the oven longer, it might have been even crisper. There was a lot of sauce here making the pizza almost slightly soggy. The star here is the pepperoni. They put quite a bit on there so if that's what you enjoy, then you'll be pleasantly surprised.
My only complaint is that some how the placement of the pepperoni was kind of odd as I managed to get an entire slice (I cut this into 4 slices) with no pepperoni at all. Mine seems to have shifted all to the other sides. There was sufficient amounts of cheese to ensure nice stringy bites.
My husband gave this an enthusiastic thumbs up and so did I. If you are looking for a more New York style pizza, this is probably the closest you'll get in the freezer aisle. We will be buyingTrader Joe's Pepperoni Pizza again.
