The pros:  Trader Joe's Multi Grain Waffles are nutty, tasty for freezer waffles and easy to prepare.

The cons:  Still not as good as homemade, a bit low on fiber for being "multigrain."

The verdict:  I'm proud to say I've eaten my way through most of the freezer aisle at this point. I've encountered very few breakfast items that I thought were unsuccessful. This was also a successful item as well.

For $1.99 you are getting a package of eight freezer waffles. They taste pretty close to homemade. These have more of a nutty flavor from the whole wheat than other brands I've tried. I did feel more full after eating these than I did after trying the Belgian Waffles, which were light as air. These however, are more plain than some of the seasonal varieties I've tried like the mango, blueberry, or chocolate chip waffles.

Overall, this is a good waffle to reach for. It's crispy when directions are followed. It's also tender on the inside and has a nice nutty flavor. I'd buy it again and it's worth a try if you haven't tried it already.

Waffles are great . . . B U T . . . they require dragging out the waffle iron and finding room on the counter for it. And - to do it right - one must whip up the egg whites separately. So - lazy me - waffles seldom grace our table. Once a lustrum, maybe.

If these are tasty, then they could hop in my basket!

    Virtual hugs,

    Judie

      Hey Judie,
I know. The mess struggle is real. I don't think I've made waffles where I haven't made a mess on the counter as well. Freezer waffles are much more frequent then fresh in my home too!
