The pros: Super chocolatey waffles that are good for breakfast, a snack or dessert. Trader Joe's Chocolate Chip Waffles is a nice flavor addition to the fruit and spice flavors already at Trader Joe's, but is seasonal.
The cons: If you don't like chocolate, you will certainly not like these. Flavor and texture of chocolate chip wasn't really there.
The verdict: For $2.29 these are slightly more expensive than the other varieties, but so worth it. This waffle is very chocolatey but is light on the chips part. My suspicion is that chocolate chips won't hold up well to a waffle iron. This can be enjoyed with a number of syrups, not just maple. Whipped cream and ice cream would go well here too. Sadly, these were around for the holiday season and are a seasonal product. This is one product that I wish would be made permanent.

Would I buy this again? Yes! Absolutely, while Trader Joe's Chocolate Chip Waffles are not particularly beautiful to photograph, they were very tasty, chocolatey and not overwhelming in calories. While lacking in chocolate chips, they would compliment almost anything dessert related, so chocolate chips could be added then. They only thing I can't see them complimenting is chicken and waffles. A nice addition to the freezer aisle.
