If there was ever a Trader Joe's item that whispered you do not need this but you are still going to buy it anyway, it was the Aromatherapy Mood Odyssey. This petite rollerball kit is now discontinued, but it was one of those fun impulse buys that felt like a tiny self care moment tucked into your purse.
This was not Trader Joe's first foray into essential oils. They previously released a seasonal diffuser set that people loved. This kit followed the same vibe but in a more personal format. Four rollerballs, four moods, one very cute presentation under ten dollars.

Review
Trader Joe's Aromatherapy Mood Odyssey was a rollerball set featuring four blends named by mood rather than by scent. Instead of sniffing and guessing, you picked whatever you needed in that moment. The kit included Sleep, Awake, Relax, and Bliss, packaged in both an outer sleeve and a compact purse sized case.
It was also one of the rare TJ's beauty items that looked ready for gifting without any effort. The whole vibe was mini spa set meets stocking stuffer.
This set was cute, fun, and surprisingly moisturizing. I enjoyed three of the four scents, and the packaging made it feel more elevated than the price suggested. But it was not a must buy and did not earn a permanent spot in my routine. I used most of the Relax and Sleep oils, rarely touched Awake, and slowly worked through Bliss without rushing.
It was a novelty beauty item and a pleasant one, but not a product I found myself missing after it cycled off shelves.
Scent by Scent Breakdown
Sleep
The most successful blend in the set. Mostly lavender but with rosemary and a tiny citrus lift to keep it from smelling like a laundry room. It reminded me a little of those old Bath and Body Works pillow sprays, soft and calming without smelling synthetic. If you love aromatherapy style lavender, this was the standout.
Awake
The biggest disappointment. The bottle promised eucalyptus but delivered barely there fragrance that leaned more like plain carrier oil. If this was meant to be energizing, it was not. Anyone hoping for that spa fresh eucalyptus moment would have found this one flat.
Relax
Easily the best fragrance in the kit. Peppermint with a hint of lavender that leaned cool, clean, and soothing without crossing into candy cane territory. This one lingered the longest on the skin, about an hour, and felt the most balanced of the bunch.
Bliss
A bergamot and citrus blend that sat squarely in the middle. Pleasant but not memorable. Bergamot can skew laundry adjacent, which is not exactly bliss. It worked but did not spark joy in the same way Relax did..
Value
At nine dollars and ninety nine cents for four rollerballs, this kit was priced incredibly well. Individual essential oil rollers typically cost more than the entire set. It made a great small gift or a personal treat for aromatherapy fans who like soft fragrances rather than strong, perfume style blends.

FAQs about Trader Joe's Aromatherapy Mood Odyssey
The following are commonly asked questions about this product:
No, this set has been discontinued.
The longevity varies by blend. Relax tends to last the longest at about an hour, Sleep lingers lightly, Bliss fades more quickly, and Awake is extremely subtle and dissipates almost immediately.
The set contains four rollerball blends. Sleep is a lavender based blend with light herbal notes, Relax has peppermint and lavender, Bliss leans bergamot with a hint of citrus, and Awake is a subtle eucalyptus based fragrance.

Final Thoughts
Trader Joe's Aromatherapy Mood Odyssey was a sweet little rollerball kit with a mix of hits and misses. Sleep and Relax delivered the most memorable scents, Bliss was fine, and Awake never really woke up. If this ever returned, I would still call it a fun giftable item rather than an essential beauty buy.
For its price, presentation, and overall calming vibe it was enjoyable, even if not a repeat purchase for me.

It's a cute package but I would like to see edible food grade essential oils so we can use it in cooking.

I've purchased plenty of essential oils and blends over the last few years, but am never 100% sure about their effectiveness. But I swear the TJ's Sleep formula helps me sleep nearly every time I've used it.
