The pros: Â Trader Joe's Bowtie Pasta is complete no frills pasta. It is priced well but...
The cons: There is nothing truly special about this pasta.
The verdict: Â Trader Joe's pasta section is full of fun items. I've tried the flavored varieties of pasta, but they cost several times what this product cost. For $0.99 you are getting the most average bag of pasta possible. With the BBQ season almost upon us, this is an inexpensive way to get a fair price for pasta. This would be ideal as a pasta salad. Out of the pot, it tasted like every other semolina pasta out there. If you are looking for a pasta that is something special, you'll have to open your wallet much more for a bag half the size.
Overall, for under $1 this is in line with what you can expect to pay for a box of pasta on sale at the regular supermarket. I wasn't sure if I loved or hated the packaging. I was worried about the pasta being broken. I'm a bit indifferent on this product. If I need bowtie pasta and I happen to go to Trader Joe's, I'd buy it again, but it's nothing worth a special trip for. If you've ever had their Lemon Pepper Pappardelle, Garlic and Basil Linguine, or Spinach Chive Linguine those were noteworthy, but not under $1.

Would I buy this again? Â This product is completely average. Nothing stood out as bad or good. If you need bowtie pasta, then this is ok to grab as it is inexpensive. This does not have the wow factor that other pastas do, so adjust your expectations.
