The pros:  Trader Joe's Chicken Breast Medallions with Coconut Red Curry Sauce has a tasty curry sauce, tender chicken, ready in under 4 minutes.

The cons:  You'll need a side dish of some sort. It's just chicken and curry.

The verdict:  For $5.99  It was only an ok value. Realistically there is only 1 chicken breast in the whole package so you are getting that and sauce. It's still cheaper than going out, but Trader Joe's does sell grilled chicken in the freezer case for $5.49 for an entire pound of chicken. Just some food for thought. I thought this was tasty, but I'm not sure I'd buy it again. If I could buy the sauce and just add grilled chicken to it, I'd probably do that instead.

Here is the quick visual rundown before I give my final thoughts on this below the pictures:

On to some rice:

The dish was good and had some nice fruit flavors in addition to the gentle flavor of coconut. There is a good amount of heat to this dish so if you are sensitive be advised. I found the heat to be pleasant.

I served my dish over with some rice. This is easily 2 meals with a respectable calorie count. Buying this again is only a maybe for me. For the price I expected more than a chicken breast since you can get a whole pound of chicken breast cut up in the freezer section, or for the same price you can get a 3 lb rotisserie chicken at Costco. This is good, but only made my list of maybes.

I bought this two times so far this year (had one last night) because I thought it was pretty good when I tried it last year. In my opinion it is only two servings, not four. And yes, you do need rice or something as an accompaniment. There is a lot of sauce. The value isn't bad to me if you compare it to getting takeout. But buyer beware for this year. Both times I somehow got tough and believe it or not fatty chicken. I know I know...... it's chicken breast! so I was really surprised. Maybe I got couch potato, junk food eating overweight chickens or something LOL

Hey Dag! I just reshot the pictures for this one. I can't agree more, I think 3 servings was kinda pushing it. But then again all the calories are probably in the sauce. It's good to know yours was fatty. I think if people shared their experiences more we all would have a better understanding of what products are out there. Thanks again!

I loved the red curry sauce in the frozen dinner with chicken breast meat. However I thought the chicken was awful! The taste was ok but the fatty slightly rubbery texture was so bad. It tasted like fully processed cheap chicken.
