Trader Joe's Coffee Toffee Shortbread Cookies

The pros:  Trader Joe's Coffee Toffee Shortbread Cookies have a coffee taste that isn't overwhelming, added texture from the toffee and a good amount of chocolate.

The cons:  Price. This is a small container of cookies for almost $3 and comes with about a dozen cookies.

The verdict:  For $2.99 you get about a dozen of  Trader Joe's Coffee Toffee Shortbread Cookies in each box. The cookies are sealed in plastic within the box to keep them fresh. When you pick up the cookie it is drizzled on one side and has a chocolate on the other. The first flavor that hit me was the chocolate and then the coffee came up right behind it. It's much darker than a regular shortbread cookie. It has some of the texture of a shortbread cookie, but not all of it.

This is slightly crunchier as there is crushed toffee within the cookie itself. It's a good cookie. Since March seems to be all about coffee at Trader Joe's, this product fits right in. Instead of the coffee announcing itself like it did in the Coffee Squares, this allows it to play nicely with the other flavors in the cookie. I liked it. I'm not sure I liked it enough to purchase this on a regular basis as I think there are better values in cookies at Trader Joe's.

Would I buy this again?  I thought these were good, but there are other items I like much better. The coffee flavor was not overwhelming as it was in other products. This was a nice compliment. If you want coffee flavor but not too much this is a good one to reach for.
