Trader Joe's Cold Brew Coffee Chocolate Bar

The pros: Trader Joe's Cold Brew Coffee Chocolate Bar is a nice mix of coffee, chocolate, and caramel all in one package.

The cons: My bar was not pretty and a good amount of the caramel looked like it was trying to escape.

The verdict:

Back in March of 2017, there was a theme at Trader Joe's: coffee. Coffee everything. Now, in October we are in the height of pumpkin season and another coffee related product appeared on the shelves. If you are needing a break from the pumpkin or perhaps really just like coffee then this isn't a bad buy for $1.99.

You are getting a unique bar of chocolate. It's a nice crisp dark chocolate with caramel on the inside. This is a dark chocolate bar that isn't too sweet nor is it too bitter. Now, that bar sounds pretty ordinary. This chocolate bar has coffee in it. The packaging even looks like the stain of a coffee mug with some extra coffee splatters thrown in. There is the flavor of coffee in this. That coffee flavor is pronounced so be ready for it. There is also the slight grittiness of the instant coffee as well. The grittiness is only subtle, but the coffee flavor is not. This product will let you know that the coffee is there.

My only gripe about this product is how it came to me. Now, I'm pretty sure all bars aren't going to look as sloppy as mine did out of the package. But mine did look like the caramel tried to escape most of the squares. Perhaps the caramel was a bit caffeinated. Perhaps mine did not ship well. Regardless of how ugly my bar was on back, this is sure to please a chocolate and coffee lover. If they love caramel, then that is just an added bonus. Overall, it's a good product. It wasn't my favorite bar, but I know this is definitely going to resonate with a lot of people.

Would I buy this again? No, I would not buy Trader Joe's Cold Brew Coffee Chocolate Bar again. It wasn't bad product, just wasn't my personal favorite. It did grow on my with each bite. However, if you have a coffee and chocolate lover in your life, then this is absolutely worth a try.
