The pros: Â Trader Joe's Dark Chocolate Mints is a nice combination of textures with a crispy shell and a fondant center, subtle peppermint flavor, subtle chocolate flavor,
The cons: Â Small sized bag for the money, package should be resealable.
The verdict: Â For $1.49, this is a fun and tasty treat in the checkout aisle. I wish the bag were resealable to stop me from justifying eating this. Packaging aside, these are tasty treats that are like a hybrid between and M&M and a York Peppermint Patty. The shell lends it some texture, the chocolate is there, but not the primary thing you taste. The peppermint filling is slightly more dense than a York but similar in flavor and peppermint level. It's not astringent, but cool and refreshing. I've bought these several times. I'll probably pick them up again in the near future.

Would I buy this again? For me this is a yes. I just find Trader Joe's Dark Chocolate Mints difficult to not eat the whole bag every single time (maybe because the bag can not be resealed). I absolutely adore the prepackaged mints that some restaurants keep by the door. While this isn't exactly the same, it's pretty close. The chocolate is quality and the mint is tasty. It's almost like a small candy coated York. Worth a try if you appreciate mint candies.
