The pros: Trader Joe's Gummy Bears are the traditional gummy bear flavor and texture.

The cons:  If you've gotten spoiled by the texture of Trader Joe's Scandinavian Swimmers or other gummies, then you might not love these.

The verdict:  I'll be honest. I'm not a fan of gummy candies. I wasn't as a kid. I'm not as fan as an adult. But I do have to admit, Trader Joe's won me over with most of their gummies. I've tried their Scandinavian Swimmers, Xs and Os, and Scandinavian Tidings. They were all very good.

There was something about the texture of those that I really enjoyed. The flavors were really good too. When I got to these, I figured it would be another home run. I popped a handful in my mouth and made the face of yuck. These tasted stale and not as soft and delicate as my other beloved Trader Joe's gummies.

When I saw my husband go over to the bag, he said, "Ooo, gummy bears." I responded, nope "Yucky bears. The taste almost stale to me." He then popped a handful into is mouth and looked back to me and reminded me, "These are what really gummies are supposed to taste like."

It's been a while since I bought gummies from anywhere but Trader Joe's. If you are also conditioned to the texture of the other gummies, then be prepared. These are much more firm and well, gummy, than the other candies available. The fruit flavors were fine, just the texture was substantially different from other varieties on the shelves.

For $1.99 these weren't my favorite, but my husband had no problem polishing off the rest of the bag as to not let them go to waste. As for me, I'll stick with my Scandinavian Swimmers. My husband liked them. So, split decision in my household. Depending on the texture you crave will dictate which bag you should reach for.

Would I buy this again? No, I would not buy Trader Joe's Gummy Bears again for me. My husband liked them so it is a bit of a split decision in my household.
