The pros: Trader Joe's Scandinavian Swimmers are available all year round. There have been other gummies available like Scandinavian Tidings and Gummy Xs & Os. These are also a different set of flavors than the seasonal variety.
The cons: These are pretty addicting.
The verdict: Â My husband loves all things salty. Me? My aunt said it best as calling ourselves "Junk Food Junkies." My taste buds lean sweet. I'm not sure why some people are wired that way, but it makes junk food buying in my household easier.
Except when your spouse discovers your snack and finds them delicious too. Each bag of Trader Joe's Gummies that I have managed to bring home and resulted in my starting the bag, but them magically disappearing. The only evidence is usually an emptied bag in the trash can.
Such is the case here. Such was the case for the Scandinavian Tidings. Such was the case for the Gummy Xs and Os. The key difference there is the Tidings and Xs and Os were only available on a seasonal basis. These are available year round.
For $2.99 you are getting a fun play on Swedish Fish. But beyond the fact that they are nautical themed gummies, that is where the similarities end. In this bag contains four shapes and four flavors.
There is a blue dolphin which according to Trader Joe's website is huckleberry flavored. The red lobster reminded me of the berry flavor found in the bag of Xs and Os. The yellow seahorse is a mango peach and the orange fish is well, orange flavored.
Trader Joe's was smart to make the fish orange as they are similar but not quite a copy of Swedish Fish. The Swimmers are far more flavorful and have a much better texture. They aren't so much gummy as they are pleasantly chewy. There is no chalky taste either.
Overall, these are a solid item to reach for. You get four fun flavors and an entire gummy seabed is waiting for you to consume it. I'd buy these again.

Huckleberry?! I love anything huckleberry. I am not a sweet person but now I kind of want to try these. Gummies were a pretty big thing in my Euro childhood.
I have to admit I do like Coke (Coca Cola) gummies.

Hey Dagmar! I'm actually not familiar with huckleberry but all I know is that I liked the flavor here. Do you have any favorite coca cola gummy brands?
Dagmar says
There was a European brand of cola gummies that I liked but I can't recall the name. Haribo makes a good one too---think it's called Happy Cola?

I'll have to look for those. They sounds really yummy.
