So previously, I mentioned that I sometimes have other taste testers on this blog. Once in a while, one of those taste testers is my husband. After being married for three years, I've learned certain truths: if your spouse likes to eat something, they will disappear.
I never need to ask if he likes something. If he likes it, the leftovers will be gone the next day. If it sits there all week, barring scheduling issues, it was a flop. And yes, I still ask anyway.
I had to move this review up sooner than I was going to. My husband sat and ate almost the whole box in less than 24 hours. He really likes Trader Joe's Key Lime Pie. So, when I brought this home I knew if the box was emptied then it was a success.
If you enjoy the tart nature of key limes, then this absolutely brings the flavor to the front. The tart nature is balanced out by the powdered sugar coating each one of these cookies.
I've seen cute signs that say something to the extent of "A cookie in each hand is a balanced diet." Well, these cookies are small, so you can sit and have 5 in just a single serving. So, perhaps it is balanced as you get one for each finger on your hand.
The cookies themselves are light and airy. When I say airy, they have lots of air pockets. Short of being macarons, I don't think I have ever seen so many gaps in a cookie. No matter, the end product is really well done. It would probably be better with some tea, although the box did not last long enough in my household to make that determination.
For $3.99, these are a really solid seasonal find for someone who can't get enough of the seasonal flavor of key lime. If you aren't so keen on key lime, then there are plenty of other dessert options at Trader Joe's.
And if you can't get to a Trader Joe's then there are some third-party sellers on Amazon you can get this from too.

Would I buy this again? Yes, I would buy Trader Joe's Key Lime Tea Cookies again. They were a hit in my household even if my husband ate almost all of them for me.

Oh my gosh I love these!!!! I know that I have previously commented that I'm not much of a cookie person but that said I love anything Key Lime. Last year I did something really cool-I made a filling for them with a little marshmallow fluff, light cream chz, lemon & lime zest and a packet of all natural True Lime crystallized lime juice. Awesome tea cookie sandwichs!

My husband and I agree. I can't believe we did not try this sooner! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Yup- keep them in the fridge for at the most a couple of days. A sweet tart relatively not bad for you two bite treat. I used very little marshmallow fluff but I've also made them with lt cream cheese and the other ingredients I mentioned..

These are very good, even though citrus sweets aren't my favorite.
On another subject, have you reviewed TJ's Spicy Peanut Vinaigrette? I haven't found it on your site. I'm addicted to it... have a salad for lunch everyday with the vinaigrette and a few peanuts sprinkled on top. There are probably other ways to use it but I haven't so far.
Love your blog! Thank you!

Hey Beth! I bought it but dont have a review up. I'll see if I can move the review up. Thanks as always for stopping by! Thanks also for the kind words.

I can't believe I've never seen or heard of this vinaigrette. It seems as though it's been around for a long time. I've been a loyal Trader Joe's Shopper for at least 15 years. I can see I've really been missing out on something. It sounds wonderful and I can't wait to try it. And I can't wait for BB to review it.

Probably the best “store bought” cookie in the world! I buy them for my family, but, also, for an elderly friend who has no Trader Joe’s near her.
We should lobby Trader Joe’s to make these little gems a year round product!

I totally agree Diane! I adore these cookies too and am always sad when the season is done at the end of summer. Thanks for stopping by!
