The pros: Trader Joe's Mango Smoothie is thick and full of mango flavor.
The cons: For something that should have so much fruit in it, it doesn't have much fiber and certainly not as much fiber as Trader Joe's Strawberry Chia Smoothie does.
For the most part, I don't drink too many smoothies. I truly feel that if you want to feel full having them blended for you probably is defeating the purpose. I also know that there are a lot of people out there who really enjoy a good smoothie. And this is a good smoothie.
Now, the name is a slightly misleading. The package says "Mango" in large letters but then hits you with the other details that there are other juices involved here. Specifically, there is apple, orange, banana, lemon juices present in addition to the mango. While there are lots of juices, it was a nice thick smoothie. If you find it too thick, then feel free to thin it down with some extra orange or apple juice.
You are getting quite a bit of vitamin A in each serving here. The flavor is predominately mango, but if you really taste the smoothie you can detect the other flavors with just a subtle touch a lemon. The combination just works.
The smoothie wasn't quite as filling as say Trader Joe's Strawberry Chia smoothie, but it did not leave me quite as hungry afterwards as Trader Joe's Very Green Smoothie. The strawberry does have the most fiber, followed by this smoothie and the very green smoothie surprisingly has the least fiber.
Overall, for $2.99 for the pint-sized this can get a bit pricey if you make this a daily habit. However, as an occasional treat or a quick grab and go, it's a solid choice to reach for.
