The pros: Quick, easy, fast, super tasty, excellent appetizer worth trying at least once before thinking about making it yourself. Trader Joe's Mini Brie en Croute is a time saver.
The cons: There is a fine line between done and cheese volcano. You might want to wait more than 2 minutes to bring these back down to a reasonable temperature, otherwise your mouth might be burned by the ensuing cheese lava flow of deliciousness.
The verdict: For $4.99, this is an awesome appetizer ready in about 20 minutes. I could have sat and ate the whole box. The brie was velvety smooth in a way other cheeses can only hope to be. The velvety center was a nice contrast to the crisp shell of puff pasty. Just keep an eye on these as they cook. As you will see, there is a very fine line between done and cheese volcano.
