Trader Joe's seems to be on a cheesecake kick lately. They've added not one, but two new cheesecakes for this winter season. If you are looking for something that is literally bite-sized, then they sell the Cheesecake in a Bite. However, if you want to eat your cheesecake out of a cone, then there are Trader Joe's Mini Cheesecake Cones.
Taste
Now, both of these are vastly different products. I'd say more people would be familiar with the Cheesecake in a Bite style of cheesecake. It was far more traditional.
These were beautifully piped into a sticky cone made from sugar and almonds. However, unlike most cheesecakes, this one is not made with cream cheese. Nor is it very sweet. It reminded me a bit of whipped cream to be honest. And a quick glance of the ingredients reveals that there isn't much sugar in the cheesecake itself. It's actually the last of the ingredients.
Most of the sweetness comes from the cone. And yes, please use the paper that comes in the package, lest you'll need a wet wipe to get a handle on the sweetness left behind.
There are also just four cones in each package. So depending on how many people you are serving (or how many servings you would like) dictates which you should reach for.
If I had my preference, I'd reach for this over the mini cheesecakes in a bite. But if I'm being honest, I probably wouldn't buy either. They're both edible, but this just didn't remind me of cheesecake.
And while I appreciate the recent theme of shoving food into a cone, with a different cheesecake blend and a less sweet shell this could have been much better
For $3.99 for four cones it is affordable.
Overall
Would I buy this again? No, I wouldn't buy Trader Joe's Mini Cheesecake Cones again. If I want a seasonal item in a cone, then it is going to be Trader Joe's Peppermint Hold the Cone any day of the week over these.

Could had changed the labeling to "Cannoli" cones and that would be best idea. Or use a graham cookie base for the cone.
Lindsay says
Well, no. Cannoli shells are made with wheat flour, as are graham cracker/cookies. These almond Florentine shells are basically gluten free (except for some possible cross contamination, looks like?), which makes me, and everyone else who’s gluten sensitive, pretty pleased.

Hey Lindsay! Thanks for chiming in about the gluten sensitive group. Maybe these would have been better with some cannoli filling instead. Thanks for sharing!

I had mixed feelings about these. I thought the cone was way too sweet and sticky, but I loved the almond flavor. I think a few tweaks would make it much better.

Hey Paige! I totally agree. The potential was there for these.
