The pros: Trader Joe’s Mocha Joe Joe’s were part of the recent coffee theme at Trader Joe’s. They have since made a return a may have taken a more permanent part of the rotation.
The cons: These were temporarily off the shelves so I’m not sure if they are now a permanent part of the line up.
The verdict: Recently, Trader Joe’s had a theme: coffee. It was coffee everything. I like coffee, but it was hard to enjoy it in moderation. I tried these earlier and thoroughly enjoyed them. I just did not get a chance to post the review before the cookies disappeared off the shelves.
On my last trip to Trader Joe’s these reappeared on shelves. It’s a good thing too. These are a good flavor variation to the other Joe Joe’s available. Joe Joe’s are basically Trader Joe’s answer to Oreos. They make some fun variations based on the seasons and even have gluten free varieties.
First off, the cookie is a true mocha flavor. It’s a good balance of chocolate and coffee flavor. On the inside is an icing that has ground coffee speckling and flavoring the filling. I enjoyed them, but wondered if they were kid friendly. So I brought some to share with my students. I did advise them they were coffee flavored. The reviews from the kids were overwhelmingly positive. I figured they would get mixed reviews, but the kids embraced the flavors presented here. For $2.99 this is a variety worth picking up. I’ve purchased these a few times since I first saw them back in March. These are worth a try.
