The pros: Trader Joe's Organic Frosted Strawberry Toaster Pastries are super fresh tasting and do taste like real fruit.

The cons:  Some people prefer their toaster pastries without frosting (which is not available at Trader Joe's) and some people will prefer the thick coating of a Pop-Tart.

The verdict:  There are currently three flavors of Organic Frosted Toaster Pastries available at Trader Joe's: Brown Sugar and Cinnamon, Cherry Pomegranate, and Strawberry. For $2.69 for a box of 6 pastries that are wrapped in three bags of two. All three varieties are frosted, so for people who prefer things without frosting, you are out of luck.

At 200 calories each, I do wish that they were individually wrapped rather than in a package of two. The taste makes these easy to polish off both of them in one sitting. The pastry seems pretty consistent regardless of which toaster pastry you reach for. However, the distinction here is the filling and the icing. The strawberry filling here tastes like really strawberries just thick and concentrated. They are more sweet than tart.

Some might wish for more icing, others not at all, but there is a very thin coating of frosting that seems to add more texture than taste. Overall, you can't go wrong with any of these pastries. They are better served warm than at room temperature. I'd buy these again. This wasn't my first box and I'm positive that it won't be my last. They are all worth a try. They are priced right too for an organic product.
