The pros: Â Trader Joe's Pesto Tortelloni can be kept in the refrigerator or freezer, very strong pesto flavor, as soon as the water is boiling it is ready in about 4-6 minutes. Good amount of filling as these are tortelloni and not tortellini. What's the difference? Size. Tortellini are smaller.
The cons: Â You'll have to appreciate the flavor of a basil pesto to like this.
The verdict: Â For $2.49, this is a great deal. It goes well with a red sauce, alfredo sauce, or just plain butter or oil. Having a pesto sauce with this would be overdoing it. Very tasty and filling dinner for 2 people.

This is a tasty option in the refrigerated aisle with many of the other fresh pasta items. This is a nice diversion from regular cheese pasta. It was very basil-y, but not very nutty which is an important element in pesto. The nuttiness wasn't really missed. The filling had a nice texture and tasty. It's more herbal than cheesy. Goes well with Trader Joe’s Fettucine Alfredo.
