The pros: Trader Joe's Pumpkin Cream Cheese has pumpkin spice flavor to a cream cheese spread. Mild flavor of pumpkin without feeling like you are eating a container of puree. Gentle touch of cinnamon here too. A welcome break from just plain cream cheese.
The cons: Would probably be even better if there was a whipped variety. This cream cheese is very dense and heavy.
The verdict: We live in a world gone mad. Everything during Fall tends to be pumpkin. Recently, everything has been a rainbow. I do wish there was a larger variety of flavors of cream cheese available at Trader Joe's. Plain, whipped, and vegan are just so boring for a store like Trader Joe's. I thought by now they would be experimenting with the cream cheese further.
Maybe one day. For now though, at $2.99, this is a great cream cheese. Especially one that will break up your usual plain routine. It's got a nice spice and some sweetness to it. It doesn't taste of pumpkin in an overbearing manner. On a toasted bagel, it's just enough to remind you that fall is here.
But being that it's Trader Joe's, this is a seasonal variety so get it while they have it in stock. In case you are wondering, cream cheese does freeze well. So if you love your pumpkin everything, then make some space and stock up. I'd buy this again.

Trader Joe's Pumpkin Cream Cheese Spread is a slightly sweet answer to regular cream cheese. The pumpkin flavor is subtle as are the accompanying spices. This has the same denseness that you would expect from a brand like Philadelphia. I personally think they could improve it by making it more airy and offering a whipped variety so you can enjoy the delicate flavors here that would make a bagel even more enjoyable.

I actually really loved this--more than I expected. I agree, if there was a whipped version or a lighter version even I would love it even more. I have it on TJ's sprouted wheat toast and it's great.
