The pros:  Trader Joe's Shrimp Spring Rolls are a light, filling and healthy option in the refrigerated case.

The cons:  Without the dressing this is like eating a salad completely plain.

The verdict:  For $4.49 you are getting two decent sized spring rolls. When I purchased these, I wanted to see if I could manage to pass on the dressing. When I took my first bite, it was like eating a salad completely plain. There wasn't much to talk about in terms of flavor. It was salad, noodle, and shrimp without much in the way of seasoning. So if you are going to eat this, you can bring your own dressing or use the one that is provided to you. The dressing is basically peanut butter, soy sauce, some chili paste and a few other seasonings thrown in. It was very tasty and vastly improved the flavor of the spring rolls.

After eating this, it was a bit guilt free. It almost reminded me of the type of lunch you might be served in a spa or healthy retreat. This is better than most of the sushi and wraps that I tried. Plus, it has fewer calories. Overall, it was good. It didn't blow me away. But as a healthy lunch/dinner option this worked. It was fresh and healthy, but absolutely needs the dressing to make it work. I'd consider buying this again.

Would I buy this again?  As a quick lunch or dinner, this is better than picking up the sushi found at Trader Joe's. I was hoping to not use the dressing to save some calories, but this is very plain without it. Nevertheless, for under 500 calories this is a guilt free meal.

I pretty much get this *just* for the dressing. I wish they sold the dressing in a bottle! It's definitely a nice guilt-free snack / lunch, I don't know about dinner though... maybe a pre-dinner snack while preparing the rest of dinner? 😀
