Review

Let's not sugarcoat it-because this juice certainly doesn't.

Trader Joe's To the Power of Seven Green Organic Juice Blend is what happens when your entire crisper drawer gets together and decides to stage an intervention. With kale, spinach, cucumber, celery, green apple, lemon, and ginger, this bottle is basically yelling "GET IT TOGETHER" at your insides-but, like, organically.

On first sip, you're hit with the green apple trying really hard to make friends. It's sweet but in a very "I'm the fun one!" kind of way. Then the rest of the gang shows up-kale and spinach with their earthy vibes, cucumber and celery adding that fresh-but-kind-of-like-lawn-clippings aftertaste, and finally ginger and lemon, who show up late but loud.

It's not bad, but it's not juice box by the pool material either. This is the juice equivalent of a green juice bootcamp: a little intense, a little vegetal, but you somehow feel healthier after drinking it-even if you chased it with a cookie.

Texture-wise, it's smooth and drinkable. No pulp, no grit, no sludge at the bottom of the bottle, which I appreciate. And the fact that it's shelf-stable means you can stash it for those moments when your body is crying out for nutrients-or you just need to undo the damage from last night's frozen pizza and wine pairing.

Would I drink this daily? No. But would I drink it after a weekend of living like a raccoon? Absolutely. It's not the best-tasting green juice I've ever had, but it gets the job done, and for the price, it's a solid choice if you want a convenient veggie hit without firing up the blender.

Just...don't expect it to taste like a spa day. It's more like your fridge guilt-tripped you into being responsible.

That being said, this post has garnered some of the most comments on this blog. So it has a fan base. In fact, this has shifted from a seasonal product to one that is sold all year long. If you are a fan of the "Power of" series from Trader Joe's, then look for the red juice if you love traditional juice the best.

That is pretty nasty! No thanks! I prefer to have a fruit flavor balanced in there like V8 Fusion

I was at Trader Joe's tonight and saw this. I really need to research why they've gone to abbreviated nutrition labeling. According to the ingredients i.e. kale & spinach there should be some vitamin A and some vitamin C as well as other things but I have noticed across the board with other products, both Trader Joe's and regular grocery items they seem to have reverted to not doing a whole nutritional panel. I prefer not to drink my calories, sugars so without knowing the full panel of nutrition I am not a fan and won't buy it.

Hey Dag! I was wondering about that. Especially in the green juice niche everyone tells about health benefits that I'm shocked they would abbreviate this information. I'm with you about drinking calories, but wanted to see what the big deal is with green juices. The one in the refrigerated aisle is much better than this product. Thanks so much for stopping by!

I drink a LOT of green juice and celery is overwhelming when you use too much of it, i make my own most mornings. The ginger powder is a big mistake, that’s super gross in juice, it has to be ginger juice.
The cold pressed green juice in the fridge section is pretty good, but also not the same value

Hey Ttrockwood! I like the green pressed juice in the refrigerated section too, but trust me, you are 100% right on this one. Thanks so much for stopping by!

I agree their refrigerated juice and veggie drinks are far better. The beet juice with lemon is actually not bad as long as it's very cold LOL.

I absolutely am obsessed with this juice blend! I love it so much I crave it over coffee when I wake up, which is unbelievable bc coffee is why I get up. I agree the taste is different, but I love it. I like it better than the thick green smoothie drinks bc it is clear and not thick. It’s also very dark green, so there has to be a lot of vitamins and minerals. I bought 4 today, and there were only 2 left on the shelf so I know I’m not alone. I stick to 1 or maybe 2 cups a day though bc of the sugars. It’s an amazing value. You would have to have 5 lbs of organic produce to get the amount of juice in the bottle, plus it’s organic. This juice will be a hit! This much organic juice at Nektar or Robeks would be $20.

Hey Jeni! Fair enough. I tried the Green Juice in the refrigerated aisle a while back. I preferred the taste of that to this one. It's all personal preference. And I absolutely appreciate your feedback. Thanks for taking the time out of your day to stop by and share your thoughts on this!

I tried today , and actually liked it to my surprise. I always make mine in the morning, and am careful if I use celery as it is strong. But I was actually happy to find something I can keep at work in the fridge if I’m running late, and can’t make one.

Hey Lori! Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts on this. I was surprised by how strong the celery flavor was. But if you love your green juice, then it's already made. Thanks so much for taking the time out of your day to stop by!

I love this juice blend! The first time I tried it I had a hard time getting it down but I KNOW I don't/won't eat enough greens daily so drinking this makes me feel a bit better about that. If I run out of it, I miss it, and I rush back to TJ's for more!

    After juicing for 30 years...FINALLY!!!
I had a juicing business for 10 years.
About time someone made this amazing juice!
I just put my juicer away for good.
    Great taste
    Great price
    Great combination

If you think it tastes bad then that means you need to detox in order to appreciate good food.
Toxins in your intestines make you hate good food and love the bad food.

    I love this product!!

My girlfriend and I absolutely LOVE the taste of this juice, so much so that we are skeptical it really has much greens and celery in it. We wish there were way more ginger in it, as we can't even taste it (we do drink strong ginger tea, though). I'm surprised some people think there is too much celery or ginger. Celery is a pretty strong taste, and we don't notice it at all either. We mostly taste the apple juice flavor, which is why it tastes so good.

How can we know that there is really enough good stuff in there? The ingredients list kale and spinach first, but we find that hard to believe as well.
