The pros:  Trader Joe's Uncured Dry Rubbed Bacon is tasty. It's bacon that comes out crispy without an overwhelming taste of salt.
The cons: Â Package only has 12 ounces in it, so if you are looking for a full pound then consider the not so uniform Bacon Ends and Pieces which also costs less per package.
The verdict: Â For $5.49, this had made a number of appearances in my shopping cart. It's fresh and tasty and unlike some other varieties at Trader Joe's, it has more than say 8 slices to it.
If you are feeling the desire for thicker cut bacon reach for Trader Joe's Applesmoked bacon or Black Forrest bacon as those are sold in a neat little stack which once again is sold only in a 12 ounce package.

Out of the package you get:
Frying up in a pan (not sure how you are supposed to measure 340F, I'd say make sure the fat isn't splattering and you are good):
Would I buy this again?  Yes, in fact I had no final picture to show as my husband managed to eat all the bacon before I got a picture of it. While this is a good substitute for your day to day bacon Trader Joe’s Uncured Black Forrest Bacon and Trader Joe’s Uncured Apple Smoked Bacon are also better choices if you prefer thick cut bacon that have more seasoning to them.
Be warned on the Black Forrest Bacon, you'll be positive you've burned it as the spices will give it a very blackened appearance as you cook it. We still prefer the Bacon ends and pieces over this, but there is nothing really wrong with this product.

TJ's bacon gave off a faint weird smell while I was frying it. Could it be the celery salt? Why do they put celery salt on it?

Celery salt does have a distinct smell. Odds are thats used to season the meat.
