My husband adores Totino's Pizza Rolls. However, my freezer is filled to capacity. I don't always enjoy living out of the freezer either. I do enjoy fresh homemade food. This was a product that is a happy medium. It's fresh, but will remind you of a classic frozen appetizer. Fortunately, on my last trip to Stew Leonard's I grabbed something I hadn't picked up previously:  Stew Leonard's Pizza Logs. Now, to be fair, the name leaves something to be desired. The term "pizza log" reminds me of what happens after you eat this item. Goofy name aside, these are really good product.

The pros:  Stew Leonard's Pizza logs are essentially pizza egg rolls. They weren't greasy at all.

The cons:  The only flavor available has pepperoni in it. No nutritional label, but rest assured these are probably not diet food.

The verdict:  For $4.99 you get a total of 6 "logs." Each log is filled with just a few items: mozzarella cheese, a sauce that you probably won't even notice and pepperoni. Each log is essentially an egg roll that is already fried. It just requires you to reheat to attain a good temperature and make sure the cheese is melted. The egg roll outside was not greasy in the least when cooked at 400F and flipped half way through. The only oil you'll see is from the pepperoni that has been heated.

It has the crispness of an eggroll but the joy of a pepperoni pizza. They are a very tasty combination of flavors. In fact, this seem to make pizza rolls just a bit more sophisticated. Not that there is anything wrong with pizza rolls. This just seems to elevate them into a more adult level appetizer. Well done Stew Leonard's. Yes, I've bought these several times since.

Would I buy this again? Yes. If my husband sees this in the refrigerator, they do not last more than 24 hours. They make for a quick snack or in his case and entire dinner.
