The pros:  Trader Joe's Brioche Toasts are a two to three bite size slice of brioche that are crisp and delicious. At under $2 it's a great deal. It also might have some interesting other applications beyond just appetizers.

The cons:  If you are using this in place of crackers, then consider making sure you have napkins or plates because there will be crumbs from this toast.

The verdict:  When it comes to bread made in France, Trader Joe's can basically do no wrong. If you have not gotten around to trying their sliced Brioche or their Pain Au Lait, then consider adding them to your shopping list. I keep an extra package of each in my freezer. They have become staples in my household. Now, this has too.

Now, if you are thinking to yourself, "why not slice the slice brioche loaf?" Then you would quickly realize the brioche is pre-sliced and far to thick and wide for a suitable appetizer. Don't get me wrong, I will frequently have a slice of toasted brioche in the morning. But these serve a different purpose.

These lack the classic braiding of a brioche, but still manage to retain the buttery and airy qualities that makes brioche, well brioche. These little toasts will gladly stand up to just about anything you wish to place on them from jam to cheese or in my case some pate. If you feel that the routine of cheese and crackers is getting a bit stale (pun intended), then these are absolutely worth a try.

For $1.99 these are reasonably priced and worth a try. Just be sure that if you are going to serve them, keep a plate or napkins nearby. They are toasts after all. You're probably not going to eat these all in one bite. There will be crumbs after eating these, but it's a product worth trying. Best of all, these are probably worth experimenting to see how many different uses beyond just a cracker alternative you can get out of these. These are going to be a regular purchase in my household.

Would I buy this again? Yes, I would buy Trader Joe's Brioche Toasts again. They were crisp, delicious, inexpensive, and might make for some interesting meal and snack combinations.

The problem here is, for some reason, TJ's has made this a "seasonal item" and they are out of stock AGAIN. I enjoy a couple of these for my breakfast every single morning and can only stockup for so many. . WHO makes these ridiculous decisions?!

Hi Melody! I loved them too. And yes, I wonder about who gets to make those decision on products that are really really good too.

So true about the Brioche Toasts...I purchase 20 boxes at a time...TJ's goes for months without stocking them. Why is that?
