The pros:Â Trader Joe's Matcha Almond Beverage is new to shelves. This is a half way point between a the canned matcha beverage and a matcha latte in terms of sweetness.
The cons: If you are not a matcha fan, then this is probably a flavor you can skip.
The verdict:  If you read yesterday's post about the Blueberry Lavender Flavored Almond Beverage, then you know the first place I'm about to deal with. I spent a lot of time dealing with the visual presentation of the blueberry product. It did not look like a blueberry product at all. So let's continue with this matcha product.
Is this product green? Yes. Very.
When I poured this product, I had a small sigh of relief. I actually felt like my eyes and taste buds could come back into line. I expected this product to have a green hue. It met all expectations.
There are some flavors that Trader Joe's like to incorporate into creative ways. Matcha makes the list of things that Trader Joe's has tinkered with in the past to varying degrees of success. There was the Matcha White Chocolate Bar and the Matcha Green Tea which is actually still on store shelves. They also sell a Matcha Green Tea Latte mix.
Think of this as a less sweet, dairy free alternative to that product. This still has the tasting notes of matcha: grassy, earthy, a touch sweet, and a bit too complex to describe accurately. If you like matcha a bit on the sweeter side, then you'll probably dig this product.
Almond beverage flavors seem to be almost always seasonal. So if you like it, pick a few up. They do have a long shelf life and don't require refrigeration until you actually open it up.
For $1.99 this is inexpensive, shelf stable, gluten-free, vegan, kosher, soy-free, and dairy-free.

Would I buy this again? No, I would not buy Trader Joe's Matcha Almond Beverage again. It was ok, I'm personally very hit or miss with matcha. For me, as someone who can take matcha or leave it, it was nothing worth repurchasing. If you love matcha, then go for it.
